Workshops

Sean Bergin teaches performance and improvisation by giving workshops. He’s been doing this since the late 70’s.

His workshops are for all instruments, but not for complete beginners.

The format is usually done in a sequence of meetings that work toward a performace of the music that has been studied. The workshops can be organised in different ways, either once a week for 2 or 3 months, or 3 to 5 days in a row. The subject matter varies from South African jazz to Dutch composer improvisers, f.e. Misha Mengelberg, Theo Lovendie or Willem Breuker, and music by Mal Waldron, Tristan Honsinger or Bergin’s own compositions that include a great number of genres.

Sean Bergin has given workshops all over the Netherlands and also in the USA, Great Brittain and Italy.
